G-d can relate?
"Nobody knew better than Christ that people to whom everyday things like holding a job or interacting with another human being are never-ending sources of torture and anxiety, are exactly the ones most in need of healing." - Heather King (from the article REDEEMED - A Spiritual Misfit Stumbles Toward God, Marginal Sanity, and the Peace That Passes All Understanding; found at www.GodSpy.com/magazine/redeemed/)
Whether you are a recovering alcoholic, drinking alcoholic or not an alcoholic, my guess is we've all experienced torture and anxiety when doing the most 'normal' of things. If you haven't, i'm not sure if i'm envious or feel sorry for you ;-)
from experience, i do know that when life is going great -i don't even know i need healing. and i do need healing.
like an alcoholic who is willing to talk only to another alcoholic for help, because they can relate to each other; it blows my mind that G-d turned that around, and was willing to become a man so that we would be able to talk to him and relate to each other -and not just when he walked on planet earth, but to encounter him, relate to him, and know him, today.
it is fascinating to me that the closer we are, the more healed i am -the anxiety and torture i experience lessens and sometimes turns into a peace that i don't understand...
