Paradox of suffering....

Without suffering there would be no compassion.  - "Jamie," from the movie A Walk to Remember, 2002; 'memorable quotes from the movie' can be found online at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281358/quotes) -thank you for sharing Lisa :-)

--a paradox that puzzles me, but resonates as being true:  compassion, which is beautiful and full of meaning when authentic and true, could not exist if there were no suffering....

it's funny how things sometimes work out.  i've watched this movie with some former homeless youth i work with; and often thought it's a movie i'd love to watch w/ my own kids.  never have though.... :-(

tonight, my wife texts me a quote she likes -and it's from this movie!  she and our daughter are watching it together as i write this. -very cool.

it is an awesome movie -on multiple levels, it's about societal pressures -falling in love -suffering -compassion -beauty....

inspirational really.  a beautiful reminder of what's important....  -michael, maybe you should carve out some time specifically for the things you've 'been meaning to do' w/ your kids....
