it can be so frustrating not being able to take short cuts to get what i want... ;-)  and it's so easy to get tricked!

among other things, i got tricked with scotch.  i loved how 'rapidly' it worked ;-)  --  i so wished i could drink like normal folks.  i hated what would happen after -the nausea, the loss of control, the pain i inflicted on others and myself, and especially, the hangovers.... --i got into enough pain doing it my way that i became willing to do what ed suggested (what i did not want to do) -and amazingly, life became worth living.

i dont know why G-d set things up the way He did -but after years of learning lessons the hard way, i've come to see His wisdom... 

one of the paradoxes that i've had the good fortune to experience, is that with patience and effort, love does take us out of ourselves, does awaken a profound interest in another, does lead to 'service' and, brings true satisfaction infinitely better than scotch...
