I choose the color of my emotional sky?
Each of us makes his own weather, determines the color of the skies in the emotional universe which he inhabits. - Fulton J. Sheen (not sure where i originally found this quote, but can be found at http://www.answers.com/topic/emotion)
i actually picked todays quote, in part, because of how hot it has been the last couple days in stockton!!! breaking 100... ;-) -and of course, i love the quote and love Fulton J. Sheen.
there is a time for happiness - and a time for sadness. - experiencing both with a perspective of eternity is almost holy - maybe, it is holy... --i always think of when i learned that my mom had an inoperable brain tumor... and i was profoundly sad and yet because i happened to be spiritually fit at the time, it was an experience i had never had before. it was like a pure sadness. like it was clean. it was sad, yes. but there was a purity in it that i can't explain. beautiful really.
but in the day to day... if i notice where i focus my mind; how my moods are; how i treat people =especially the people who live where i live ;-) ---and i'm not happy with the emotional universe i'm helping to create... if my emotional skies are scary and my emotions are full of anger and resentment; and i'm being harsh and bitter... -it might be time to consciously choose a different color for my skies....
PS: the audit went great :-) and christy and her family are doing well, even though the 'solution' was delayed another day... thank you for your prayers for her family.
